International Women’s Day is marked on 8 March and, at Entegra, we will use it as an opportunity to shine a light on the achievements of women across our business; reinforce our commitment to achieve gender balance; and showcase the actions we’re taking to empower women and advance on gender equality.
Did you know that 60-70% of new graduates worldwide are women, and yet women represent only 40% of the global workforce?
Did you know that only one third of small to medium enterprises are owned and operated by women, and yet €12 trillion could be added to the global GDP through gender parity in the community?
And did you know that, while women make up 43% of the agricultural workforce in developing countries, if they had the same access to productive resources as men, they could increase yields on their farms to the extent of reducing the number of hungry people in the world by up to 17%?
Empowering women for a more sustainable future
By empowering women and striving for gender equality today, we believe we can pave the way for a more sustainable tomorrow.
Empowering women to grow their careers at Entegra can help us to achieve a more sustainable business. By empowering women in our local communities, giving them the skills to get into employment and supporting women-owned businesses, we can support the sustainability of communities in which we operate. And by empowering women in developing countries through our support of Stop Hunger, we can strive for a more sustainable and hunger-free planet.
And it all starts with the everyday. Our everyday actions are focused on empowering women, removing barriers and tackling bias. Whether deliberate or unconscious, bias makes it difficult for women to move ahead. Knowing that bias exists isn’t enough, action is needed to level the playing field. And this is where we all have a role to play…
Join the movement, break the bias.
